As many prepare for the upcoming holidays and gatherings with loved ones, our citizens in the armed forces are overseas serving and protecting our right of freedom.
To honor those who are serving and those who have given the ultimate sacrifice for freedom, Webb County Commissioner Jerry Garza will be hosting a candlelight vigil and prayer service Tuesday, December 7th at 6 p.m. at the National Guard Armory.
“We must not forget those individuals that will not be home for the holidays to be with their loved ones and we need to unite to pray for the safety of our troops this holiday season,” Commissioner Garza said. “By holding this event we’re letting our troops know that they’re not forgotten and that they’re in our thoughts and prayers this holiday season.
The public is invited to attend the event that will feature special guests. Refreshments will be served.
