On Monday, September 8, 2008 at approximately 3:50 PM, Laredo Police Department patrol officers were dispatched to the 800 block of S. US 83 for a criminal mischief report. Upon arrival, officers were informed that the male subject, who had damaged a vehicle, boarded a bus. At the intersection of Victoria Street and San Enrique Ave., the patrol officer located the bus at which the male subject exited the bus and as officers attempted to question him, he fled from officers. After a brief foot chase, the male subject was apprehended by the 1000 block of San Jorge Ave.

Booked and charged with Resisting Search C/A, Assault on Public Servant 2 Counts F/1, Criminal Mischief-State Jail Felony, Evading Arrest C/B, Fail to Identify giving false information C/B was:

Leon E. Vasquez del Mercado Age 25

The male subject was then transported to the Laredo Police Department where he was booked and charged. He was then transported to the Webb County Jail where J.P. Oscar Liendo set a total bond at $27,000.00 dollars.
