On September 26, 2008 the Laredo Police Department received a call of shots fired call by 300 Manor Rd. Upon arrival of the initial officers and subsequent investigation, revealed that the victim an off duty Border Patrol Agent confronted two male subjects who were burglarizing his neighbors’ vehicle. The CBP Officer identified himself and ordered the subjects to stop what they were doing; he then observed that one of the subjects had a weapon in his hand and heard a loud bang he returned fire with service weapon at the subjects. Upon fleeing the crime scene, the two suspects fired seven times with a semi automatic pistol. The subjects fled east bound on Manor Rd in a light blue or grey Ford Explorer.CSI was requested who took photographs of the crime scene and recovered all pertinent evidence. There were no injuries sustained by the victim or suspects.

Subsequent to the investigation, Laredo Police Department Patrol Division arrested one male subject identified as Larry Perez for unlawful carry of weapon. Perez was in possession of a semi-auto pistol and was operating a blue Ford Explorer. Larry Perez was subsequently interviewed in the above-mentioned incident. Larry Perez voluntarily admitted of his own free will to his participation and gave a detailed confession of the events that transpired corroborating with the statements given by the victim and witnesses.
