LAREDO, TX – The Laredo Entertainment Center and the Theatre Council, a Chicago-based Broadway presentation company responsible for bringing Broadway shows to cities across North America, are thrilled to announce a new multi-year venture that will bring Broadway to Laredo! Beginning this November, the partnership will be presenting an annual series of Direct from New York Broadway shows.
“We are thrilled to bring four shows directly from Broadway to the LEC and the City of Laredo,” said Roy Medina, Interim General Manager of the LEC. “The inaugural season is sure to be a huge success providing the citizens of both Laredos the opportunity to see Broadway shows right here in Laredo .”
Season Schedule The Inaugural Season of BROADWAY IN LAREDO will feature four of the best productions ever set on a Broadway stage.
This season will begin on November 21st with CIRQUE DREAMS Jungle Fantasy, a production by Neil Goldberg and Cirque Productions who have once again reinvented the circus with a European flair, imaginative theatrics and world-class acrobatics.
February 9, 2009, CATS, the winner of Seven Tony Awards featuring 20 of Andrew Lloyd Webber's timeless melodies that includes the hit song, "Memory."
On February 27, 2009 Hairspray, the winner of Seven Tony Awards that takes you back to 1962 Baltimore, as 16-year-old Tracy Turnblad sets out to dance her way onto TV’s most popular show.
On April 19, 2009, following its sellout engagement in 2004, Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance, the international sensation that has broken box office records in more than 30 countries, returns to Laredo.
Season Structure and Ticketing Offerings This inaugural Season of Broadway will be offering season packages that range from $94 - $193 and are available in four different package options. The Base package features Cirque Dreams and Hairspray; the Cats Gold package features Cirque Dreams, Hairspray and Cats; The Lord of the Dance Gold Package features Cirque Dreams, Hairspray and Lord of the Dance; and The Platinum Series Package includes all four shows and ranges from $143 - $193. Purchasing season tickets package can save subscribers over $40 per seat vs. buying individual tickets.
This Inaugural season of Broadway in Laredo allows season ticket holders to receive priority seating and guarantees the ability to obtain the same great seat to each engagement included in their season package. Patrons who purchase seats this year will have the ability to hold these seats year in and year out with the ability to renew them annually. Tickets to any single event are unavailable at this time and there are no current plans to hold any seating for non-season tickets sales. Where/When/How to get My Season Tickets
At 10:00AM, Monday, September 29th seasons tickets will go on sale to the general public. There are no guarantees of the availability of single tickets to any one event. The only way to ensure that you have seats is to purchase one of four season ticket packages.
