MALE SUBJECT ARRESTED FOR ARSON

       LAREDO POLICE DEPARTMENT

On Friday, September 5, 2008 at approximately 4:34 PM, Laredo Fire Department Arson Investigators, with the assistance of Laredo Police, arrested a male subject wanted for Arson.

The male subject was arrested without incident by the 3000 block of Guadalupe St. and transported to the Laredo Police Department.

Booked and charged with 2 counts of Arson F/2 was:

Jose Alberto Gomez Age 28

The male subject was then transported to the Webb County Jail. Bond on the warrant was set at $150,000.00 dollars that was set by J.P. Oscar Liendo.

This fire not only put the residents around the Miracle Candle building in danger, but also those first responders at the scene. In this case, two firefighters were injured.

The Laredo Fire Department Arson Investigators lead the investigation, which resulted in this arrest.
