On Monday, October 06, 2008, at approximately 12:30 am, two unknown suspects committed an armed robbery by the Stripes located on 1120 Saunders Avenue. Preliminary information states that the suspects had asked for cigarettes and then entered the restroom, afterwards both walked towards the coolers and took cases of beer. One of the suspects, who was wearing black & white colored baseball cap, black colored sunglasses, white T-shirt, rosary hanging from his neck, and black colored pants, took out a handgun, had threatened him. The other suspect, who was wearing a yellow colored polo type shirt with a stripe across, plaid brown colored shirt, white colored tennis shoes, and black colored sunglasses, took the beer only. The unknown suspects left in a silver colored, possibly a 2002 Chevy Impala vehicle.
Almost immediately right after at 12:50am, is was reported that two unknown suspects committed an armed robbery by the Stripes located on 602 N. Zapata HWY. Preliminary information stated that the two unknown suspects, who matched the identical description as the robbery earlier, had displayed a handgun, and said, “give all your money!” to the clerk. The clerk told both suspects that he had no money, so they left running out the store.
